Motor Oils
PSA Peugeot Citroën introduced its B71 lubricant specifications to supplement the baseline performance categories published by ACEA. An ACEA sequence describes a broad industry performance level; a PSA or Stellantis code identifies the vehicle-maker requirement. The exact code, viscosity grade and any permitted alternatives in the current owner’s manual or maintenance documentation must be followed.
Following the formation of Stellantis, newer engine-oil requirements use the FPW9.55535 designation. These are not universal replacements for every earlier PSA B71 requirement: applicability remains engine-, model-year- and market-specific.

Stellantis FPW9.55535 engine-oil specifications
These newer Stellantis-labelled requirements are relevant to later Peugeot, Citroën, DS, Opel/Vauxhall and other Stellantis applications. The suffix is part of the complete requirement.

Important: Viscosity grade, ACEA sequence and a PSA/Stellantis approval are complementary identifiers. A product described only as “ACEA C2,” “ACEA C3,” “0W-20” or “5W-30” does not automatically meet a required PSA B71 or Stellantis FPW9.55535 specification. Gear Oils
PSA transmission-fluid codes are also application-specific. An API GL-4 claim and an SAE viscosity grade provide useful context, but they do not establish interchangeability between manual transmissions.
